Kayaking on the Zrmanja River

rafting

Chase the rapids on the Zrmanja River with a Riva Rafting Center guide. It's not often that you get to spend a day in nature where you get to mix rowing, waterfalls, and the heart racing pump of adrenaline. Best of all, kayaking the Zrmanja is suited to all skill levels - even for beginners age five and up.
This 14-kilometer adventure starts on Kaštel Žegarski and is divided into two equal 7 kilometers sections. The first part of the day is ideal for learning to row and building your confidence, whereas the second part will challenge your rowing skills and reward you with the sight of the impressive 11-meter high Veliki Buk waterfall (don’t worry, you go around it).
With water temps of around 14 to 20 degrees, you'll need a wetsuit, but don't worry, the Riva Raftingcrew will issue you all of the best equipment to use for your adventure.
If you're feeling adventurous, you can stop and leap from several waterfalls ranging in height from 1 meter up to 5 meters, and then after your four-hour experience, you can finish the day with a drink and swim.

Rafting on the Zrmanja River

rafting

Along with your guide, one great way to experience the Zrmanja River is to spend a day in untouched nature rafting along rapids and passing waterfalls.
Rafting the river is much the same as kayaking, in that the day is divided into two 7 kilometer sections, and you will be provided with all the best equipment you need for the day. But, unlike kayaking, you'll need four rowers in your raft - so get your group together and get rafting.
With the water temperature between 5 and 20 degrees, it could get chilly if you fall out, so be sure you listen to your guide's commands as they help you pass the trickest of rapids.
At Muškovci and the end of the rafting, you can change back into your dry clothes and savor a local beverage. With advance notice, you can then be driven to Mićanove Dvor, where a Dalmatian feast will be waiting for you to devour for lunch.

Riding

Start your riding day at Mićanovi Dvori for this short but enjoyable experience with the Riva Rafting Co, which is especially suitable for families.
Your horse trainer will introduce you to the horses, and as you make friends, you will learn how to saddle up before your 45-minute riding lesson begins.
With a view of the enchanting Velebit mountains at your back, it might be hard to concentrate on your riding lesson, but there will be no doubt you have escaped the city in this rustic environment.
After your lesson, you can get further acquainted with horse care as you learn the art of grooming and preparing the horse for the barn.

SUP on the Zrmanja River

sup

Stand-up-paddle boarding started in Hawaii, and it’s been a popular Zrmanja River activity for more than a decade. Join the Riva Rafting experts as they show you the two sides of the river, known as the ‘Beauty and the Beast.
The crew will loan you the boards; you just have to choose on which side to SUP. On the lower side of the river, you can SUP peacefully and easily, perfect for chilling out and beginners. Or head to the upper part of the river, where the rapids will test your balance and patience.
With your instructor by your side, you can paddle close to the Ogar's Beech Waterfall. This tour also has a swim break planned, so you can swim right at the waterfall and capture some great photos for your Insta feed.

Zrmanja Adventures Trail

zrmanja

Put on your trail shoes, and explore the Zrmanja Adventures Trail with the help of the Riva Rafting Center at an organized event held in April.
The event offers you the chance to explore the canyon along marked paths with easily recognizable checkpoints - making it very safe and easy to follow. Go at your own pace, stop and relax wherever you choose. Pack snacks in your daypack and explore the trails.
Sometimes also called the 'Trail of The Three Rivers", you can choose two trail options, the first is the most extensive trail which starts in a small but exciting village called Muškovci. Along this trail, the main highlight is the 11-meter Veliki Buk waterfall. The total trail length is 17 kilometers and takes around two to six hours, depending on your fitness level.
Your second choice is the small 10-kilometer trail, which will take you across a 19-century, 109-meter travertine bridge. This trail can be completed in less than four hours and is suitable for beginners.
This running & walking trail event is ideal for those who wish to appreciate the Zadar region's less-explored sites while enjoying being able to follow a marked route with other trekkers.
