The third Falkensteiner Punta Skala Triathlon was held Triathletes competed in the wonderful conditions & across four events

On the 5th of June the third Falkensteiner Punta Skala Triathlon was held where triathletes competed in the wonderful conditions, across four events; middle distance riathlon, Aquathlon, super sprint triathlon and a 10 km run, with the main event being the middle distance triathlon.

This year’s victor was Dejan Patrčević, one of Croatian best triathletes who before the event declared he was coming to “win and enjoy the race,” and that’s exactly what he did. Winning with a time of 4: 03:32, Dejan solidified his position as Croatia’s best triathlete. Coming in second in the triathlon was Peter Zrinski followed by Marin Koceić.

The German competitor, Markus Liebelt led the race for an extended period of time until the run leg of the triathlon where Dejan was able to take control and favorable hot and humid conditions. After the race, Dejan said, “I have been running for 20 years, and if I came second or third I would be equally as happy. The track configuration and the hot, humid weather suited me and were the ideal conditions for me to compete at my best. When you race over 4 hours, you never know what can happen, but this time, it all came together. The course was excellent, and this part of Dalmatia is ideal for cycling and running. “ This was the first time the event was held in a middle distance format and was hugely successful with competitors extremely happy with the track and the location.

Actress Ecija Ojdanic, a star in Croatian film, television, and theater, and a self-proclaimed running addict competed in the 5 km run and put in a stellar performance completing five kilometers in just 24 minutes. Ecija was extremely happy with her performance, setting a personal best, after preparing for the race for about one year. “Running is my source of happiness and satisfaction, which I then pass onto my family. I’m calmer, happier and completely satisfied when I run,” says Ecija.
