The Scent of Nature at Zadar County Flower Festival

From 27-30 April, the region turns its attention to Filip-Jakov, for the start of the County Flower Festival.


You don’t have to be the world’s biggest flower fan to enjoy this fantastic event, as there are free music concerts every evening, fun for children, a real cultural vibe, and plenty to see and do. Those who want to find out more about various different species of exotic flowers will love the vast array on offer.


Set both in Villa Donat Hotel and in the center of the town, more than 100 different horticultural specialists will undertake workshops on various different flowers, as well as selling souvenirs. Visitors are encouraged to take part in the workshops, buy the flowers they love the smell and appearance of, and basically enjoy the entertainment.


Kids are certainly well catered for, as there are daily events aimed at youngsters, helping them to become more ecologically aware, and every single year when the event takes place, around 200 children enjoy the various workshops and attractions, including a magician, dance performances, and creative workshops.


The show begins on 28 April with guest singer Zlatan Stipisic Gibonni opening the event, followed by a full entertainment program and International Dance Day, with various performances.


Saturday sees creative workshops for kids on how to make flower arrangements, and a concert in the evening by Klapa Iskon. On Sunday, there are further workshops for adults and children, as well as a sky lanterns launch, and another concert in the evening, this time by Neno Belan.


Getting to the event is easy, thanks to a free bus route which is put on for visitors across the weekend, running from Liburnija to Zadar, and from Biograd to Zadar.
