The fourth edition of the Zadar Basketball Tournament A unique opportunity for basketball lovers in Zadar

The fourth edition of the Zadar Basketball Tournament will take place in Zadar, the Croatian city of basketball, from September 21st till September 24th. It’s a unique opportunity for basketball lovers to see the most attractive basketball teams of the moment. This tournament has won the epithet of the best preseason tournament in Europe in a very short period. The reasons for this are not only the teams that participate on it, but also the organization which by the word of all participants is at the level of major international competitions.

Fenerbahçe Dogus, the current European Champion and two-time winner of the tournament, is also participating in this year’s edition of the tournament.

After Lokomotiv Kuban took part as the first Russian club in the tournament last year, participants in the Zadar Basketball Tournament in 2017 will be Russian champion CSKA Moscow and BC Khimki. Last season CSKA participated in the EuroLeague Final Four, which it won in the 2016 season and in the upcoming season intends to return to the throne. Khimki is a club of high ambitions and of a stable financial plan who with the first boost has shown that it doesn’t intended to just have an episodic role in the EuroLeague.

Panathinaikos is the second Greek club to be included in the list of participants of the Zadar tournament organized by S-event. Panathinaikos is coming to Zadar as the current champion of Greece.

At the end of September, German champion Brose Bamberg and Bayern München will present themselves to the Zadar audience, announcing a new fight for the national championship title and return to the EuroLeague.

The Zadar Basketball Tournament will host 2016 and 2017 European champion, two Final Four EuroLeague 2017 participants, five EuroLeague teams and one Euro Cup participant and four national champions.

All nine tournament matches will be broadcasted in Croatia, Germany, Turkey, Greece, Spain, Russia and all neighbouring countries.

In addition to the event at the Krešimir Ćosić Hall, other special events like the Kids’ Day and Gala Dinner which have become a trademark of ZDBT will be organized again. The Kids’ day event is an opportunity for kids and young players, but also for the older ones and their guests to get acquainted with the stars of European basketball.

Novelty of this year’s Zadar Basketball Tournament is a joint aerial photograph of participants from one of the recognizable Zadar tourist locations with the intention of sending greetings from “the most basketball city in the world”.
