Doing a good deed is a great way to rack up your karma points, and if you’re wanting to find a worthwhile cause to put your efforts into, how about grabbing some fresh air and exercise at the same time?
On 7 May 2017 Zadar is hosting the Wings for Life World Run Croatia event, and this is a great way to do your bit for a good cause, and check out the local scenery in one go!
In conjunction with Red Bull and the Croatian Athletics Foundation, Wings For Life aims to raise much-needed cash for spinal cord research, helping to save lives. The great news is that all donations received by the foundation go straight to the worthwhile cause, so you don’t have any worries about percentages going elsewhere.
As for the event itself, the race begins on 7 May at 1pm local time, and begins next to the famous Roman Forum. If you’re aged 16 and over you can get involved, you simply need to pay the register, pay the entry fee, and get training! The course goes into Zadar centre, before passing along the city walls, with the glistening Adriatic in the background. The race course actually ends in the small city of Primosten, but along the way it passes through several small towns, which are all very beautiful in their own right, including Jakov, Drage, Pirovac, and Brodarica, to name just a few.
Wings For Life is a great way to do your bit, but it’s always a wonderful way to see the area, top up your exercise levels, and meet lots of new people along the way.
